Portsmouth Naval Shipyard New Tug Launched at Great Bay Marine

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard newest member of the fleet was launched Tuesday, 14 October 2008 at Great Bay Marine.  The new boat is a brand new, special design submarine tug boat built at Marine Group Boat Works in San Diego.

She is 42 feet overall and displaces just over 40 ton.  Power is provided by twin 500hp Cummins diesels.  The hull is especially designed for use piloting submarines to and from the Yard.
